Membership is open to anyone interested in joining.
Our membership is made up of people teaching in the fields of
Sociology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Anthropology, and Women's Studies,
as well as graduate and undergraduate scholars in these fields.
We also have a significant membership employed as Social Workers.
Benefits of membership include networking with people interested in
sociological issues of all kind, including issues of social justice.
NYSSA has also launched an on-line journal The
New York Sociologist.
Papers presented at the annual meetings are eligible for submission.
Membership fees vary since they are used solely to host the annual
meetings and to maintain the on-line journal.
Membership fees are included in the registration fees for the annual meetings.
