The New York Sociologist was born in October 2005 at the business meeting
of the 53rd Annual Meetings of the New York State Sociological Association (NYSSA).

Any paper presented at a NYSSA conference is eligible for submission to the journal.
Papers are peer-reviewed and publication is annual.
